WHY TAKES NOTE?
Ø Helps us to pay attention
Ø Helps us to study
Ø Improve our memory
Ø Take ownership for ideas
Ø Engage our senses

WHY REVIEW NOTES ?
Ø We lose 80% of what we hear if we not reviewed within a few hours.
Ø Identify any questions for peers, the next class or ask the prof.
Ø There is not enough time to absorb all the information given in class.
Ø Think, “If i were tested by the lecturer, can i answered it?”
WHY RECAPTURE NOTE AFTER CLASS ?
Ø Frees you to write in quick, shorthand during class.
Ø An excellent text prep strategy.
Ø Better than re-copying.

HOW DO WE PREPARE FOR CLASS ?
Ø Do pre-reading and homework.
Ø Reviwe syllabus.
Ø Preview previous notes.
Ø Look up key words prior to class.
Ø Plan on listening 80% of the time and 20% of the time.
Ø Write the date at the top of your papers or notes.
Ø Leaves space between the lines so that you can add information later.
